We are a community that deeply values relationship and human connection. If you ask around about us, chances are people will mention our friendliness, hospitality and knack for throwing a party. Below you'll find some of the social events that we put on throughout the year. All proceeds go directly to local ministries and organizations that we love and support.
Be sure to check our Events calendar page for specific dates and times.
This fundraiser for Riverside Refugee Resettlement usually takes place in January. Come enjoy fellowship, a taco bar, and pinata for the kids!
This event is a fundraiser for our annual youth mission trip to Appalachia. Scheduled in the spring, attendees are treated to delicious food and an enthusiastic and youthful waiting staff!
4th of july brat stand
A tradition for many years at Ascension, folks from our congregation operate a brat stand as part of the annual Riverside 4th of July festivities. Proceeds from this event go directly to a local non-profit organization.
This annual Ascension tradition takes place in early October. Come enjoy fellowship, roast pork, and of course--some good German-style beer! Proceeds from this event go directly to a local non-profit organization that fights hunger and food insecurity.
Each Christmas Day, following worship, we host a free community dinner. This is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and a good hearty holiday meal.
In addition to these annual events, be sure to keep checking our website, calendar and weekly updates for other opportunities for building relationships such as wine and beer tastings, summer outing to a concert at Millennium Park, and much more.
